Big Time Squash is a full-placement squash tournament built for players who love the game, the competition, and the company that comes with it. No federation red tape, no stuffy club politics, no going home after a single loss. Just a full bracket, a room full of people who’d rather be on court than anywhere else, and the satisfying echo of a ball hitting tin.
How it started
It began the way most good things do: a handful of squash players who were tired of one-and-done knockouts and wanted a format where every match actually mattered. Word spread through local courts and player circles, the WhatsApp group filled up, and what was once a casual meet-up turned into a proper fixture. Today Big Time Squash brings together an international crowd — locals and newcomers, lifelong players and people who picked up a racquet last season.
What makes Big Time Squash different
Most tournaments knock you out after one bad match and send you to the showers. We don’t. Big Time Squash runs full-placement brackets — lose in the first round and you drop straight into the fight for the next position down. Win or lose, you keep playing until your final placement is settled, all the way down the draw. You came to play squash, so you play squash.
- Every match counts. Nobody sits out after a single defeat. Every position in the bracket is earned on court.
- An international crowd. Players from Spain, Germany, the UK and beyond — squash is the common language.
- A proper event. Every tournament is a highlight, not a chore. Friendly off court, ruthless on it.
How a Playday works
The setup is simple: 16 players, one bracket, best-of-three matches. Spots are limited and they fill fast, so signing up early through the WhatsApp group is the only way to guarantee a place. When the draw closes, the bracket goes live and the squash starts. Curious about the next date and venue? The BIG rating
Every match you play feeds into the BIG rating — our own ranking system that tracks how players perform across tournaments over time. It’s how we keep the rivalries honest and the bragging rights earned. You can read how it works on the BIG rating page, and once the dust settles after each event, the full brackets and standings land on the results page.
